Teff

Teff is a high-fiber miracle superfood and is a strong source of protein, manganese, iron and calcium. The array of vitamins and minerals found in teff contribute to its role as a healthy, weight-managing

Chia

Chia means strength, and these tiny black and white seeds are used as an energy booster. This is because chia seeds are a source of concentrated healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fibre, antioxidants, and calcium.

Quinoa

Quinoa is gluten-free, high in protein and one of the few superfoods that contain all nine essential amino acids. It is also high in fibre, magnesium, b vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus vitamin e and various beneficial antioxidants.

Sorghum Grain

Sorghum has a high nutritional value, with high levels of unsaturated fats, protein, fibre, and minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and iron. It also has more antioxidants than blueberries and pomegranates.

Buckwheat

Despite its name, Buckwheat is not related to wheat and is thus gluten-free. The groats, used in much the same way as rice, are the main ingredient in many traditional European and Asian dishes. Buckwheat has become popular as a health food due to its high mineral and antioxidant content.

Sunflower

Sunflower seeds are usually enjoyed in trail mix, nutritional bars, multi-grain bread and rusks. It can also be enjoyed as-is as a healthy snack.Sunflower seeds are rich in healthy fats and several vitamins and minerals. These nutrients have been shown to reduce your risk of common health problems, like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

We operate in an environmentally responsible manner. We use no pesticides and very little or no fertiliser. We only use herbicides from reputable multinationals like Bayer to control broad-leaf weeds.

How We Work

At Icon-Foods International (Pty) Ltd, we know that consistent quality in the supply chain is vital. That is why we only partner with professional commercial growers who continuously deliver large volumes of excellent gluten-free grains and flour.

GROWING

In a wholesome environment with plenty of sunlight and healthy soil, we grow the purest quality gluten-free grains – with no ecological harm. Our products are free from external biological, physical and chemical properties.

We operate in an environmentally responsible manner.

We use no pesticides, and very little or no fertiliser. To control broad leaf weeds, we only use herbicides from reputable multi-nationals, such as Bayer.

HARVESTING

A trusted network of South-African grain growers, supplements our internal cultivation. Together, we maintain a quality code that makes us an exporter of choice.

CLEANING

We take great comfort and pride in our operational protocol that ensures minimum impact and maximum output. Whilst we continue to supply to the global feeding needs, we want to ensure that generations to come can do so as well.

MILLING

We use both proven, and modern technology to give you nutritious gluten-free flours. With traditional stone mills and modern machinery, our products are milled to perfection in our state of the art facility.

EXPORT

We have worked hard and persistently at becoming one of the best
gluten-free grain and flour exporters in the world and have an impressive
global trade footprint. We pride ourselves on order flexibility as we can
supply both small and large volumes, and delivery in six to eight weeks –
depending on the port of destination.

Hands On

From the onset, we maintain close relations with our suppliers by supervising and managing crops from the day they are planted. Product quality is our top priority.

We are proud to say that we are FSSC 22000 certified. Which means that we will only provide you with the absolute best quality products possible.

Official SANHA auditors visit our premises on a regular basis and we are pleased to state that all our products are Halaal certified.

Lab Tested

Each delivery is subject to strict grading at our in-house laboratory. The luxury of having a fully fledged laboratory on site, improves both quality and turn-around time. As we can decide faster, we can deliver faster. Once the product is approved and received into our silo’s, we clean and stone mill by order.
Built on the stone milling technique learnt from the Ethiopians, we supplement the process with modern equipment to produce only the finest flour. With our attention to detail, and a true passion for our products, you receive only the very best.
